Afrikan Sprituality Think Tank

Sharing ideas and research on Afrikan Centered Spirituality and what roles it plays in our everyday life as Afrikan People. We hope to use these conversations to develop curriculum for children ages 0-5!

  • What is the Afrikan definition or understanding of SPIRIT?
  • Is it neccesary to welcome our children with ritual, prayer or ceremony?
  • What exactly is Afrikan spirituality? The difference between Afrikan spirituality and spirituality?
  • Why do our children need Afrikan Spirituality?
  • What do we teach our children in respects to worship and praise? How does our child ren start their days?
  • Other children learn their prayers by 3 or 4-years-old, what should our Afrikan Children learn for their age?
  • Is it ok to address our babies in the language of our conqurer? Are there spiritual and mental consequences to this act?
  • Should our language we greet our babies in be a language spoken at a time before we were attacked and enslaved?

  1. The mere creation of language and communication/word of mouth is African our enemies never have and will never be able to create anything (orignal). My concern is that we have so many language barriers that hinder us from communicating with our people throughout the diaspora! What are some whys we can break down those language barriers?

    1. I don't know that we have to "break-down" any language barriers, to communicate to our people, throughout the diaspora? All we have to do is speak with our actions...And the rest of the diaspora will understand by sight/insinuation (and follow the lead).

The protocol/modus-operandi, is to come-up with the right plan and/or "plan-of-direction/sheer plan (vision) to autonomy. All language-barriers will manifest itself into perspectives...At that point.

Lets find the plan to establish ourselfs independence and/or self-determination, first. Then we'll worry-about the "language-barriers" later.

That's my little two-cents...Of an opinion. Yet it might be worth a little-bit more? Three-cents, maybe?

  2. In re-educating our children we must address matters of the spirit in order to reopen the doors to true knowledge. Communication is the key and is not limited to vocabulary/speech, I believe all vibration is communication, music, humming,etc.. What do you think ORAAD?

  3. I have always felt something was missing where language is concerned. There doesn't seem to be words in English that accommodate my thought processes. The language which our ancestors spoke with was filled with spirituality and layered with the messages we need to sustain our selves. We know that English is a language based on deception, as is the culture, the system and everything western. it is important for us to get back to the tongue of our ancestors in order to clearly understand some of the spiritual messages they have been sending. I have always heard the ancestors calling me to duty, I just didn't understand the language.

  4. I think language is very important...it's a requirement in my house that my children learn an ancestral language upon graduation from their rites of passage (no graduation= no dating.) I've learned in my quest to find out which language is it helps to know which part of the motherland do you belong! You do this by getting the test or just ask your ancestors (get a reading, have some basics in french and learn pigeon. This has helped us.
